In the football world, the entire sport has its eyes focused on the preseason, as well as the start of the 2024 regular season.

However, when it comes to baseball, they've got their own big event this Summer as well. The Little League World Series (LLWS) has been underway for a little while now, and believe it or not, the Las Vegas Raiders have something to do with it.

The Raiders' assistant equipment manager, Adam Johnson, has been coaching his little league team to the LLWS.

Johnson has been with the Raiders' franchise for nearly 20 years now, and he's held down his role as the assistant equipment manager well. In that role, Johnson has been tasked with practice equipment logistics, quarterback ball preparation, as well as practice and game apparel.

However, Johnson has lived a bit of a double-life recently, and has been heading back and forth between Costa Mesa, where the Raiders' training camp has taken place for the past couple of weeks, and San Bernardino, where his Paseo Verde team has been busy earning their trip to the LLWS.

His team got some much-needed encouragement from Raiders' star edge rusher Maxx Crosby , who called Johnson before one of their games to wish him and the team luck. Johnson spoke about that with ESPN:

"When you're around pro sports, you interact with different people and you see the passion of people like the Maxx Crosbys... The kids see that video from Maxx and they get juiced. That's what we're here to do. Our players look up to their role models. The Raider connection makes it more special."

Raiders' head coach Antonio Pierce also spoke about his team's support for Johnson and his team:

"We're extremely happy. ... We'll support Adam all the way through. He'll be gone until his team, hopefully, wins the World Series and brings that trophy back to Nevada."
