Donovan Mitchell's Incredulous Reaction to Potential 2028 Team USA Roster

LeBron James and Stephen Curry have already telegraphed that the Paris Olympics will be their last.

Kevin Durant will be 39 in four years' time, and Jrue Holiday 38. There's no guaranteeing Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid—coming off a gold medal in France, oft-injured and in their mid-30s—will have interest in suiting up for Team USA come 2028.

Seemingly ready and willing to pick up slack left by the American's departing superstars for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics?

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell, who apparently found it laughable he would be left off any potential iteration of Team USA's roster for the next Olympics.

Mitchell has recent experience with USA Basketball at the 2019 FIBA World Cup, where the Americans finished an extremely disappointing sixth-place.

While he no doubt has hopes of avenging that result on the Olympic stage in Los Angeles, lead guard figures to be Team USA's most competitive role for the 2028 squad.

Go ahead and pencil in Tyrese Haliburton, the United States' 12th man in France, for the Los Angeles roster. Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Maxey will definitely garner serious consideration. Don't count out Ja Morant, either, especially if he stays healthy and away from off-court trouble in 2024-25.

The backcourt competition to play for Team USA in 2028 will be fierce. Mitchell's hat seems like it's already in the ring.
