"College GameDay" host Rece Davis has officially made his choice for who he believes is the number one overall team in the country going into the 2024 college football season.

With the first game set to kick off on August 24, the preseason AP Poll was released Monday at noon. Rece Davis is one of many exclusive voters who get to make their voices known.

His pick: the Georgia Bulldogs. Ohio State came in at number two, but having the Bulldogs atop his list should come as no surprise to anyone.

Following a national championship in 2021 and 2022, Kirby Smart took his 2023 team undefeated into the SEC Championship Game against Alabama, where the Tide squeaked out a 27-24 win to capture the title.

That loss would eventually keep Georgia out of the College Football Playoff.

    Davis' top-ten is as follows:

    1. Georgia
    2. Ohio State
    3. Texas
    4. Oregon
    5. Ole Miss
    6. Florida State
    7. Alabama
    8. Notre Dame
    9. Missouri
    10. Penn State

With all eyes on 2024, talent is no issue in the Georgia locker room. It has 15 returning starters, including quarterback Carson Beck, who is a projected first-round draft choice in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.

Georgia will kick off the season on August 31 against Clemson in Atlanta, followed by other premium matchups with Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee scattered across the rest of their schedule.

Only time will tell if Rece Davis' preseason prediction will stand strong.
