Tyreek Hill Accuses Gold Medalist Noah Lyles of 'Pretending Like He's Sick'

Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill stirred up controversy on Monday by calling out U.S. Olympic track star Noah Lyles for supposedly faking an illness.

Hill, known for his incredible speed, confidently asserted that he would defeat Lyles in a race, even joking that he would sport a COVID mask when he wins.

"I would beat Noah Lyles," Hill stated on the 'Up and Adams Show.' "And when I beat him, I'm going to put on a COVID mask."

Many fans were unimpressed with Lyles announcing he had COVID only after winning bronze, rather than before the event, and apparently, Hill shares the same feeling.

Lyles has been a polarizing figure in the sports world for his outspoken criticism of American athletes who call themselves world champions. He argues that their titles are only valid in American competitions and not on a global scale.

"World champion of what?," Lyles remarked at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. "The United States? Don't get me wrong. I love the US at times. But that ain't the world."

These comments gained additional scrutiny after Lyles missed out on the gold and silver medals at the Paris Olympics, finishing behind Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo and the U.S.’s Kenneth Bednarek in the 200-meter final.

"Noah Lyles can’t say anything after what just happened to him," Hill said. "Come on bruh, just speak on what you know about and that’s track."

Hill's speed is well-documented. Although he was a top 200-meter sprinter in 2012 before focusing on football, he returned to track in 2023, clocking 6.70 seconds in the 60-meter at the USA Track and Field Masters Indoor Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.

Despite his impressive time, Hill humorously tweeted that he wouldn’t be pursuing track seriously again.

It appears that Lyles' remarks will continue to spark debate among American athletes. While a race between Hill and Lyles might seem unlikely, it would certainly be an exciting event for fans.
