The Kansas City Chiefs are on a quest to win an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl. Coach Andy Reid is an offensive mastermind and has high standards for all of his players and specific uses and goals for all of the skill position players.

One player in particular needs to really shine if he wants to make the final 53-man roster. Running back Carson Steele, an undrafted free agent out of UCLA has the opportunity make the team if he plays well.

Steele played in his first preseason game this weekend and scored his first ever touchdown in the process. Coach Reid was asked on Monday what the former Bruin must do to make the team.

"You saw what he was as a running back," Reid said. "He's learning the fullback spot as needed. We used Noah (Gray) there last year, who can still do that. If he's going to make the team, he's got to be a good special teams player and he's got to be able to carry the football and stay aggressive like he's doing right now. But he had a productive day."

Most undrafted guys fighting to make the roster have to be special-teams aces. If they can shine on kickoffs and returns, they can catch the eye of their coaches making it easier to make it through the final cutdown.

The Chiefs continue their preseason schedule this week at home against the Detroit Lions on Saturday. ... with more kids getting more chances.
