Jordan Chiles' Bronze Medal Controversy Gets Hit With Huge Truth Bomb From Romanian Gymnastics Federation

The International Olympic Committee's controversial Jordan Chiles' ruling in the women's floor competition has remained a hot topic of discussion even now that the 2024 Summer Olympics have come to an end.

Chiles was initially awarded the bronze medal at the event after her coaches successfully challenged her score, but the IOC ruled that the challenge came in too late, meaning that she would have to give up her bronze medal.

That meant that Romanian teammates Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, who tied for fourth place, would share the bronze medal. While reports indicated that the Romanian Gymnastics Federation was on board with stripping Chiles of her medal, they fiercely denied ever saying that.

"The initiative to award bronze medals to all three athletes, Jordan Chiles, Ana-Maria Bărbosu, and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, was proposed by the lawyers of the Romanian Gymnastics Federation, with the prior approval of the Federation...FRG never agreed on taking away a medal." - Romanian Gymnastics Federation

Rather than simply taking the medal away from Chiles, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation is proposing that all three gymnasts share the award given the unprecedented mixup that has taken place.

At this point, though, it doesn't seem like that will be happening, and it will be interesting to see what comes next in this crazy controversy.
