Texas had a fantastic showing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Current and former Texas Longhorns earned a total of 16 medals, including six gold, seven silver and three bronze. Texas now has at least one gold medalist in each of the last 11 Summer Olympics.

The gold medalists in Paris included Julian Alfred (track and field), Ryan Crouser (track and field), Tara Davis-Woodhall (track and field), Kevin Durant (men's basketball), Hubert Kos (men's swimming and diving), and Scottie Scheffler (men's golf).

Crouser has now won three gold medals, marking the first time a shot putter has accomplished that feat in Olympics history.

Durant also earned high praise in Paris by becoming the first men's basketball player in Olympics history to win four gold medals. He led Team USA to a gold medal in the 98-89 win over France on Aug. 10. Team USA men's basketball has now won five straight gold medals.

Other notable medalists with ties to the Longhorns were Chiaka Ogbogu, Leo Neugebauer, Carson Foster, Erin Gemmell, Luke Hobson, and Drew Kibler.

The 16 total medals would have ranked No. 16 among all nation's in the number of total medals won.
