USA gymnast Simone Biles and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise have at least one thing in common: both had a pivotal role in the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony.

Biles started things off by walking onto the stage at the Stade de France, holding the Olympic flag as popular musician H.E.R. performed "The Star-Spangled Banner."

After the song was finished, the main performance began as Cruise rappeled down from the top of the stadium to the stage, receiving the flag from Biles. He then hopped on a motorcycle and drove off with the flag right behind him.

This was all part of the official transition to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which is where Cruise does a majority of his stunts for the big screen.

On Monday, Biles made an Instagram post highlighting the closing ceremony with three images. She captioned the post as follows:

"closing ceremonies," Biles wrote with a black heart emoji. "such an honor. I haven’t found the right words to describe my olympic experience, it’s been a whirlwind… but I do know, I’ll be forever grateful to represent the united states"

Cruise later left his thoughts on the closing ceremony in the comment section, giving Biles her flowers as well.

"Simone, it was an absolute honor to receive the Olympic flag from you this weekend," Cruise commented. "Your artistry is one-of-a-kind. Witnessing your dedication to your craft first-hand over the past several weeks has been a true pleasure!"

Biles left Paris with four new Olympic medals, bringing her total to 11. She won gold in the team final alongside Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Suni Lee, as well as in the vault and all-around finals. She also earned a silver medal in the floor exercise.

Cruise is in the process of filming his new movie "Mission Impossible 8." The 62-year-old actor has also played key roles in "Top Gun," "Jerry Maguire" and "Rain Man." However, despite having three nominations, Cruise has yet to win an Oscar award.
