Pacers Rival Stands Up for Payton Pritchard

Boston Celtics Brad Stevens is known for picking versatile players to help build a championship roster, but also finding a wedding officiant is next-level team building. Following a 2024 NBA championship campaign, which included sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics had plenty of reasons to celebrate, and backup guard Payton Pritchard added another by getting married.

To help with the life-changing event, Pritchard picked his former teammate Blake Griffin as the wedding officiant. Having such a title may seem shocking for the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner.

However, Griffin has many talents besides dunking and dribbling a basketball.

Griffin is practicing stand-up comedy, and professionals such as Brad Williams have even claimed that "he could be a standout."

Like Griffin, the Celtics are a versatile team with many ways to attack their opponents, as the Pacers experienced first-hand. The Celtics reloaded their championship roster, preparing for another deep run into the playoffs. They aim to be the second repeat champions since the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.

The Pacers also re-signed their core free agents to seek revenge on the Celtics for sweeping them in the Eastern Conference Finals. Perhaps Griffin could do stand-up at the halftime show.
