If Josh Allen wants to bring a Super Bowl title to the Buffalo Bills anytime soon, he very likely needs to go through Patrick Mahomes in the AFC first.

During an August 12 appearance on the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast , Allen was asked if he ever feels like he's trying to rewrite the "The Last Dance" rivalry storyline between Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.

Allen admitted to jokingly taunting Mahomes after Buffalo's 2022 AFC Divisional overtime loss with a few famous words once uttered by Jordan to Bird after nearly leading the Pacers to a win over the Chicago Bulls in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals.

"Funny enough, 'The Last Dance' came out before that (2021-22) season, right, that COVID year,” Allen said to Long. “And you know, Larry Bird goes up to MJ, 'You b****, you.' I saw (Mahomes) in the locker room, and I did the same thing. You know I was like, 'What the hell?'"

The Bills and Chiefs are scheduled for at least one matchup in 2024 with a Week 11 game in Buffalo on Sunday, November 17.

Allen is 3-1 against Kansas City in four career regular season games, however, Mahomes and the Chiefs have ended Allen's season in the playoffs all three times they've met (2021, 2022 and 2024) to date.
