Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden was recently in the gym during the NBA offseason, working out with his former teammate and current Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey.

Harden participated in open-run scrimmages with NBA trainer Rico Hines. Following the practice, Harden spoke to a group of young players, one of whom was Maxey.

The NBA veteran shared some insight on the grind needed to be a great player in the NBA. While he was giving pointers to the young prospects, he spoke on Tyrese Maxey's work ethic.

He believes Maxey has truly deserved his success in the NBA, mentioning his recent contract extension with the 76ers.

"I got the pleasure an opportunity to be with Tyrese [Maxey] two years ago," Harden said. "He work his a** off. What'd you just sign for Rese?... A bank. They giving this sh** out. Cherish it though, put the work in, and the results will pay off later."

Maxey signed a five-year, $204 million extension with the 76ers during the NBA offseason after being named the Most Improved Player and making his first All-Star team during the 2023-24 season.

The 23-year-old averaged 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game last season.

He previously played under Harden's leadership, sharing the court with the Clippers star from 2021-23.

Harden was traded to Los Angeles in 2023 in a deal that made it known Maxey is the future of the Sixers alongside Joel Embiid.

James Harden has since worked alongside some of the league's biggest stars, like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook, with the Clippers, attempting to secure his first NBA title.

Despite going their separate ways, Harden showed major respect for the young star, praising his work ethic.
