The SEC is home to plenty of promising underclassmen quarterbacks like Nico Iamaleava for the Tennessee Volunteers, Jackson Arnold for the Oklahoma Sooners and Arch Manning for the Texas Longhorns. Arnold and Iamaleava started in their teams' bowl games to end the 2023 season.

Greg McElroy raised some concerns about Arnold in a recent episode of " Always College Football ." According to McElroy, Arnold has had some turnover problems in fall camp. The Oklahoma QB threw three interceptions and lost one fumble in his one start last season against the Arizona Wildcats in the Alamo Bowl.

Arnold also turned the ball over three times in a recent scrimmage, one of which included a pick-six to linebacker Danny Stutsman.

"...The concern for me, though, is that Jackson Arnold has continued to kind of turn the football over," McElroy said. "Turned it over three times on Friday, including a pick-six to Danny Stutsman. But he turned it over three times in the bowl as well, there were some turnover issues in the spring as well. You become a turnover guy, it's hard to kind of coach yourself out of that."

Arnold was a former five-star quarterback in the 2023 class. According to the On3 Industry Rankings , he was the No. 1 QB in his class.

Luckily for Arnold, Oklahoma returns some offensive weapons from last year's team. Wide receivers Jalil Farooq, Andrel Anthony and Nic Anderson are back, and running back Gavin Sawchuk.

Oklahoma is looking to Arnold to lead them to a successful first season in the SEC in 2024. The Sooners kick off the season against the Temple Owls on Aug. 30.
