Jets, Robert Saleh Responds To Haason Reddick's Trade Request

The New York Jets are not going to give into the trade and contract demands that Haason Reddick is putting out to the public. No matter how messy the situation gets.

That much was clear when, just 30 minutes after Reddick went public with his trade request Monday afternoon, general manager Joe Douglas responded saying he would not exercise any trade or release of Reddick at all in 2024.

A day later, the dust still hasn't really cleared for the Jets to this point. Even their head coach is getting in on the action of talking about the current situation.

"To be honest, I think Joe (Douglas) said it all," Robert Saleh said on WFAN this morning. "I am focused on these guys. I'll say this much: We love our D-Line group, it's really deep, especially our D-ends ... I'm focused on those guys. They're taking advantage of their opportunity."

It's not as if New York's current defensive line is bad by any stretch. They still have a first-team All-Pro in Quinnen Williams and two first-round edge rushers who appear to be on the precipice of a breakout season.

Reddick was seen to be the icing on top, though, thanks to being one of just two players in the last four years to record over 10 sacks in each season. The longer he stays out, the more pressure is on some of New York's more unproven talents.

That doesn't concern Saleh at this time. He's focused on getting the team ready for Week 1, and by all accounts, it looks like the team has followed suit.
