The Cleveland Browns have one of, if not the, best rosters in the league. They are seemingly stacked with talent at every position and their depth players are good as well.

One of those depth players is backup quarterback Jameis Winston, a player that coach Kevin Stefanski believes is a true team guy.

“Yeah, not surprisingly, he’s a team guy all the way; he wants to win badly,” Stefanski said. “Jameis has had a, you know, an interesting career to date, but the book is never written.

“He’s a guy that works hard at his craft and like right now, his main goal in life is to get better as a football player and help his football team, and that’s what he’s doing.”

That is the kind of guy you need on your team. The former No. 1 overall pick has had quite the journey to get where he is today. He spent the first five years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the starter where he threw for 3,500+ yards four times, including his final season with the Bucs in 2019 when he topped 5,000 yards.

He spent the last four years with the New Orleans Saints where he learned to be a backup. He did start seven games for New Orleans in 2021, leading them to a 5-2 record in that span.

Based on all the reports, Winston is an incredibly infectious guy. His personality, his attitude, and his drive to not only make himself better but make his teammates better make him a great asset.

“I think he’s a good football player,” Stefanski concluded. “I’d really start there. He’s played a lot of games in this league and won a lot of football games. So that’s really the most important piece. Now, obviously, he’s a good person and, in that way, can support all of his teammates.”
