The preseason AP Top 25 has been released, with the college football season just a few weeks away. The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked the No. 1 team in the country to start the season.

The Bulldogs received 46 of the 62 first-place votes, while the Ohio State Buckeyes got 15 and the Oregon Ducks received one. On his show, ESPN's Paul Finebaum asked if he agreed with the Bulldogs getting the top ranking. He stated that the Bulldogs deserved it over the Buckeyes because they have a better coach and quarterback.

"I think they do," Finebaum said. "I don't think it was an overwhelming choice. I think it would have come down to Georgia vs. Ohio State. I think Ohio State could have been No. 1 based on the talent that they have. But Georgia, I think, has the better coach and overall. And clearly the better quarterback."

The ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) measures team strength and predicts their performance for the rest of the season. According to the rankings, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 in the country, but the FPI isn't as high on the Buckeyes, ranking them No. 4, trailing behind the Oregon Ducks and Texas Longhorns.

Ohio State is projected to have a 10-2 record, second only to Oregon in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes also have the fourth-highest chance of making the College Football Playoff and winning the national championship this season. The Bulldogs hold the top position in all three of those categories.

So, there doesn't appear to be much disagreement at the top for Finebaum.
