Deion Sanders Asks Colorado Players One Crucial Question Before College Football Season

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders posed a blunt question to his team ahead of the 2024 college football season.

Expectations surround the squad following a 4-8 season in Coach Prime's first year in Boulder. The move to the Big 12 puts the Buffaloes in a position for a fresh start after 14 years in the Pac-12.

"We all want to go pro," Sanders said in a clip posted to his Instagram . "We all want to be successful. We all want to be that person who is admirable. That person that warrants attention or whatever. That person who gets looked up to and looked out for. That person that has the bag."

With his team and his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, looking on from their seats in a meeting room, Coach Prime issued a challenge.

"What is the one significant thing that can keep you from doing that?," he said.

Sanders, a six-time NFL All-Pro selection, went on to share his take on the difficult road to success and how he believes the Buffaloes can work to achieve it in their own lives.

"When you think about having success, you've got to think about that thing that can keep you from having success...," Sanders said. "Have you identified it? You could be living with the one thing. You could be sleeping with the one thing. You could be smoking with the one thing. You could be snorting the one thing. You could be drinking the one thing."

Sanders left his team with a short statement of advice as Colorado continues fall camp.

"Identify it and don't do it," he said. "Because when you do, things are gonna change. Everything in your life will change."

The Buffaloes will open the 2024 season at home against North Dakota State on Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN).
