ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum recently reviewed the preseason AP Poll Top 25 rankings. While he's been vocal about a few teams, like Alabama being planted at No. 5 or Colorado listed way outside the Top 25 at No. 42, he took some time to add Florida State to his list of overrated teams.

Finebaum believes the Seminoles will finish the season unranked. The 'Noles are currently listed as the No. 10 team in the country, firmly holding the No. 1 slot in the preseason ACC standings.

The longtime analyst joked about FSU being slowed down by their tears from their 2024 College Football Playoff snub.

"I think they used up too many tears crying about not getting in the playoffs," Finebaum said. "That may slow them down a little bit."

The Seminoles were 13-0 heading into bowl season in 2023 and were waiting to hear their name called for the College Football Playoff.

Florida State was left out of the playoff, making them the only undefeated Power Conference champion to ever be left out of the playoff field.

Finebaum believes Florida State will get caught in the "run of the mill" ACC game this year, hinting at the fact that they have some tough opponents.

He mentioned matchups against Miami, Notre Dame, and Florida as potential tests for the Seminoles.

Finebaum thinks Florida State has "no business" being in the Top 10, despite the 'Noles having one of the deepest teams they've fielded in the last decade.

The Seminoles lost the bulk of their offensive firepower, including quarterback Jordan Travis, receivers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, and running back Trey Benson to the 2024 NFL draft.

They'll also be missing defensive stars like Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, and Fabien Lovett.

Despite the losses, head coach Mike Norvell and his staff secured the No. 1 transfer portal class in the ACC, according to 247Sports rankings.

Norvell had been known to have experienced athletes plug and play, so only time will tell how Finebaum's bold take will age.
