The Minnesota Vikings have added a new linebacker as their depth deals with injury.

Tuesday, the team announced the signing of linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk and waived fellow linebacker Jabril Cox with an injury designation.

Cox, a former standout at North Dakota State and LSU, was a fourth-round pick by Dallas in the 2021 NFL Draft. He joined the Vikings as a free agent last month but got hurt in the team’s preseason opener on Saturday.

Kunaszyk, an undrafted free agent in 2019, has had stints with Carolina, Washington and Cleveland over his five NFL seasons, appearing in 46 total games, primarily as a backup.

He joins his new team as they travel to Cleveland, his team for the past two seasons, for join practices ahead of Saturday’s preseason game.
