Mike Vrabel is getting more comfortable in his new role as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns after being fired by the Tennessee Titans after the 2023 season.

In an August 13 piece from ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi , Browns tight end David Njoku described Vrabel as a "very hands-on guy." Oyefusi wrote that Vrabel participated in some of the drills with the players.

One of which was racing against quarterback Jameis Winston in a 30-yard sprint after a throwing drill. Vrabel said it's been part of their training camp, and he's glad to do it.

"We do the routes on air and after the last ball is thrown, they started taking off in the offseason," Vrabel said.

"I thought, well, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get these old bones moving. So now we just try to have a little bit of fun with it."

The 30-year-old Winston is set to back up starter Deshaun Watson as the Browns look to carry over their gains from a 11-6 finish last season.

The 48-year-old Vrabel already acknowledged that joining the Browns was the best opportunity for his career, saying his respect for had coach Kevin Stefanski and the team's brass made the decision easier.

"There's 32 flavors in this league, and everybody does it a little differently," the former Coach of the Year said. "So, it's been fun to be a part of this and try to help where I can and most especially learn."
