The Philadelphia Eagles head to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium as they continue their preseason schedule. On Tuesday, the two teams will have a joint practice ahead of their upcoming game.

For the Eagles, the starters are rumored to get a little playing time this week, but nothing has been confirmed. With the regular season opener just a few weeks away, it would be encouraging to see the first-team offense on the field for a series or two.

Running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles biggest offseason acquisition, will be active in Tuesday’s joint practice, so he could get to play on Thursday night.

On defense, rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell should get considerable playing time as he adapts to the speed of the NFL. Second-year defensive tackle Jalen Carter could be playing at defensive end, so it will be interesting to see how the former No. 9 overall pick adapts to the new position.

For the Patriots, we could see a healthy does of No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye. The New England quarterback is battling with Bailey Zappe for the starting quarterback position.
