Going into the 2024 season, the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles appear to be on opposite ends of the NFL contending spectrum.

It certainly looked that way during joint practice.

In Foxboro Tuesday morning, the Eagles looked like a dominant team on both sides of the ball while the Patriots appeared to be a unit that was in the early stages of a rebuild with a new coach and front office group.

At the top of the list of reasons why the Eagles were successful was quarterback Jalen Hurts. According to many reporters, Hurts' final stat line was 24-28 passing for a single touchdown with work being done in both 1v1 and 11-on-11 work.

It wasn't just Philadelphia's starting quarterback that played well in Massachusetts today, though.

Multiple reporters onsite noticed that the Patriots' offensive line struggled throughout the day and that the Eagles' defensive line recorded double-digit sacks while also forcing two turnovers in the red zone.

Whether it was Jacoby Brissett struggling or the Eagles defense picking up the pieces from a disappointing preseason contest against the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia's defense looked far better against New England's young offense.

It may not matter going into the 2024 season, but the Eagles should feel good after a strong showing Tuesday in joint work.
