Tyrese Haliburton Feeling Nostalgic

Tyrese Haliburton is the ultimate teammate. Despite averaging only 8.8 minutes in three games during Team USA's gold-medal run, Haliburton remained enthused by his teammates' on-court success. After winning gold, Haliburton's mother figured it appropriate to send her son old pictures of him as a child wearing jerseys of his favorite player.

Lebron James is an all-time player and recently received the 2024 Olmypic MVP honors through the six tournament games. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.

To extend the impressive Olympic run, James recorded a triple-double in the 17-point comeback against Serbia in the semifinals.

Haliburton witnessed most of James' Olympic feats through the lens of a bench player. Despite what many players would see as a terrible scenario, Haliburton embraced the moment, soaking in the aura of legends like James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant. Ultimately, Haliburton received a gold medal regardless of the minutes logged.

After 15 days in France, Haliburton returns to his family and regular life. During his much-needed downtime, his mother sent him childhood pictures.

While Michael Jordan is the player for Gen Xers, James and Curry are the players that many in the next generation perceive as their basketball idols. In the photos, Haliburton wore two James jerseys. Even as a child, Haliburton enjoyed James' flash and seemed to have a nice collection of rare jerseys.

Once a little boy with a dream, Haliburton is now a man, living his ultimate hopes and goals, and he can say he won a gold medal with his basketball idol.
