The Boston Red Sox (62-55) promoted their three top prospects from the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs to the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox on Monday. All three of them are expected to be a big part of Boston's future, even as soon as 2025, but in the present, one of them brought his hot hitting to Triple-A.

Roman Anthony , 20, is the youngest Red Sox player to be in Triple-A in 46 years. In his first at-bat with the Worcester Red Sox, Anthony ripped a double into the right-center field gap.

Anthony entered the 2024 season as Boston's #2 prospect and the #13 prospect in MLB per MLB Pipeline . He opened the season in Double-A and remained there until his promotion on Monday.

In 84 Double-A games this season, Anthony has batted to a .269/.367/.489 line with 38 extra-base hits, 45 RBI, and 16 stolen bases in 323 at-bats.

Over his 10 games before being promoted, Anthony batted .409/.480/.727 with six extra-base hits, 11 RBI, and four stolen bases.

Anthony was drafted by the Red Sox with their third pick of the 2022 MLB Draft in the supplemental portion of the second round out of Stoneman Douglas High School. He has quickly progressed through Boston's minor league system, and there is a chance that he could reach the Majors at some point in 2025.

Anthony was selected to the 2024 MLB All-Star Futures Game. He was also named a MiLB.com organization All-Star in 2023, as well as a Baseball America High Class A All-Star and Baseball America Minor League All-Star in 2023.
