The standard at Alabama is the standard. Fans all around expect the highest level of talent, competition and success. Nick Saban provided that nearly every season in his legendary 17-year tenure with the Crimson Tide. Now, the question lingers if new head coach Kalen DeBoer could provide nearly the same success.

Before taking the job, DeBoer knew the expectations of the program. He knew the stakes and what it truly takes to provide more success to an already legendary program.

Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy gave a statement about DeBoer and the current expectations for the Crimson Tide. Touchdown Alabama provided the statement on X.

"There will be alarm bells and sirens going off because I think people look at the standard. The standard is the standard. I don't think it's changed just because Nick Saban is no longer there. It's DeBoer's team now, but the expectations remain high."

McElroy provided nothing but truth in this statement. Fans and analysts will still have high expectations for the Crimson Tide, regardless of the coach. The program has always been that way, Saban just elevated it even more.

Alabama has the talent, sure, but they also have a brand new coaching staff and one of the most difficult schedule's in all of college football. It will not be an easy task, but since day one, DeBoer has been ready to take on the challenge.

He has already began recruiting at one of the highest levels, and his trend of success in the offseason continues to flourish.
