A Pacific Northwest native, Colin Cowherd believes the incoming former Pac-12 schools have something coming for the Big Ten on the football field.

Cowherd discussed the new Big Ten additions with Greg McElroy on a recent episode of his podcast, where Cowherd noted that it could be the current Big Ten teams, not the newcomers, who struggle more with the transition.

"Whereas Texas and Oklahoma are going to go into the SEC and go, 'Alright, we got to take a deep breath here, this is a little more consistently difficult than we thought' — I think the inverse is true," he said. "I think Ohio State is going to go 'Oh s**t, at Seattle, at Eugene.'"

Cowherd continued, noting where these Pac-12 imports have an edge.

"I think the Pac-12 teams going are more creative," he added. "I think they're much better at home. I mean, Buckeyes don't go to Eugene. No, it's 58,000, it's the loudest stadium I've ever been in in my life except Gainesville. So I think the Big 10 is thinking, 'Oh, all these soft teams.' Washington and Oregon play in crappy weather."

Plus, you have a proven top coach and offensive wizard coming in from the LA area.

"USC, you don't face a lot of Lincoln Riley offenses, by the way, in the Big Ten," noted Cowherd.

"So I think the SEC is going to be shocking to Texas, Oklahoma," he continued. "I think the Pac-12 schools' creativity — Jedd Fisch, (Dan) Lanning, Lincoln Riley — you're going to find out they're not Iowa and Purdue."

There are top coaches along with top talent.

"Both of those programs, Oregon and USC, are buying good players," said Cowherd. "They have real collectives. So, that's my take."
