Although Demani Richardson was an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, he has begun to make plays and turn heads, for multiple reasons during Carolina Panthers training camp. Richardson has stood out to fellow safety Jordan Fuller for many reasons, but initially Fuller noticed how Demani was using his brain. “First thing I would say just his smarts for the game and how serious he takes like learning his playbook.”

Richardson attacked the playbook and has now started his assault on the field. “He moves really well. I know he was playing a lot of like kind of big nickel in college and I definitely see those cover skills. We've been seeing his ball skills in the past couple of days, too. I mean, there's not too many things that DeMoni can't do on the football field. So I'm really excited to see what he does next,” stated Fuller. When you have the starting safety singing your praises, it shows you are on the right track.

Speaking of singing, Fuller also mentioned how Richardson performed during his rookie performance, where the young guys get up in front of the team and usually sing or tell jokes. “Some guys brought some energy,” Fuller noted. “I got to shout out DeMoni Richardson. He showed a lot of growth.” Richardson has had to perform his song Candy Rain multiple times throughout training camp, and now it’s a team joke.

The joke might be turning into a theme song for the rookie, who has played his best ball recently. “So now he made a couple of plays out there and then we started playing Candy Rain,” as Fuller smiled. “So today, today during practice, he had his best performance of all time. Yeah, that's his theme song.”

Fuller was asked if Carolina was going to play the song in the locker room. “I don't know,” replied Fuller. “It got to be DeMoni making a play now for Candy Rain to be played.” Seems like Demani Richardson is right where he needs to be, I mean not everyone gets their own theme music.
