Tom Brady revealed his ideal starting football roster, selecting players from the Team USA men's basketball team in his recent vlog that dropped on Wednesday. The lineup featured six NBA players, showcasing Brady’s unique approach to building a football squad.

Brady kicked off his selections by choosing a hometown player from the Boston Celtics as his quarterback, drawing from his own experiences during his 20-year career with the New England Patriots.

“I’m putting Jayson Tatum as my quarterback,” Brady said.

Next, Brady debated where to place LeBron James, given his size and athleticism. After considering both wide receiver and tight end, Brady decided that wide receiver would be the best fit for James.

“I’ve got LeBron at receiver,” Brady said. “I think I can utilize him better (at wide receiver). He’s more got downfield speed.”

For the other wide receiver spot, Brady selected Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, praising his versatility. “He can go vertical, he’s got speed, and he can go over the middle,” Brady said.

Brady’s choice for running back was Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards. While Edwards stands at 6-foot-5, making him taller than typical NFL running backs, Brady valued his agility and explosiveness.

Brady specifically wanted someone lower to the ground compared to the other players, aiming for a balance of speed and power.

Finally, for tight ends, Brady opted for size, reminiscent of his successful years with big tight ends like Rob Gronkowski. He chose Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.

    “That’s a squad,” Brady said.

With flag football set to debut at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, it’s possible Brady might advocate for some of these NBA players during tryouts.

However, with the NFL loaded with talent, even Brady’s endorsement might not guarantee a spot for these basketball stars.
