Patriots' Matthew Judon Sitaution Gets Hit With Bombshell Update After Falcons Trade

The New England Patriots' training camp has been headlined by their tense standoff with star pass rusher Matthew Judon.

But on Wednesday night, it was announced that Judon had been traded by the Patriots to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick.

While Judon is one of the top pass rushers in the NFL when he's healthy, he played in just four games last season after he suffered a torn biceps. That made negotiations hard for both sides, and it was revealed after the trade that while New England tried to find common ground with Judon, it simply did not happen.

Judon had made it clear for quite some time that he believes his base salary of $6.5 million is too low for a player of his skill, but he and the Pats were unable to agree on a new figure, which led to this trade.

Judon will now spearhead the Falcons pass rush, while the Patriots will aid their rebuilding efforts by clearing some cap space and picking up another draft pick.

It's a shame the two sides couldn't come to an agreement, but that's just how things work in the NFL, and everyone will be interested to see if Judon can put together a bounce back campaign now that he's landed in Atlanta.
