Peter Schrager Turns Heads With Raving Jets Review Amid Haason Reddick Drama

The New York Jets aim to get back on track after completely falling apart last season. Aaron Rodgers is returning from injury and the front office made moves to improve the roster. But the contract dispute with star EDGE rusher, Haason Reddick, is a cloud hanging above the franchise.

Although that may be the case, it sounds like the Jets are putting together a strong camp ahead of the regular season. During a guest appearance on Barstool's Pardon My Take , Peter Schrager of Fox Sports claims New York had "one of the crispest practices" he's attended this offseason.

Schrager does mention the contract situation with Reddick. However, he makes it clear that the Jets are seemingly more focused on the upcoming season. He also proceeds to caution for optimism, as New York has been hit by a string of bad luck over the years.

"I'd say the Jets are running a very crisp, nicely, somewhat under-the-radar training camp in a year where it looks like the Patriots, the Dolphins, and even the Bills might be taking a step back from where they were last year. I don't know. I don't want Jets fans to get too excited. I get it. But like, that was one of the crispest practices I've been to all summer, maybe in the last couple summers."

This time a year ago in 2023, the hype around the Jets reached an all-time high. The franchise and fanbase were ecstatic after finalizing a trade with the Green Bay Packers for superstar quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.

Unfortunately, Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury on the first drive of the first game of that season. Zach Wilson was forced back into the starting role and New York finished the year with a 7-10 record.

Since then the front office has made some moves to improve the roster. The Jets addressed the offensive line this offseason as protecting the quarterback has been a major problem in previous seasons.

New York acquired rookie tackle Olu Fashanu in the NFL Draft while signing left tackle Tyron Smith and guard John Simpson in free agency. Additionally, the Jets acquired right tackle, Morgan Moses, in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens.

On top of that, the wide receiver room was improved upon too after signing veteran Mike Williams in free agency. That makes Williams and Garrett Wilson the top two pass catchers on the roster. Meanwhile, there is a ton of hype surrounding Breece Hall and the Jets arguably have the best defense in the league.

Although the Reddick situation is a mess there is plenty to like about New York. But all eyes will be on Rodgers, as how he comes back from injury could be the deciding factor for the Jets' season.
