Jets' Offensive Line 'Haven't Skipped A Beat' - OC Nathaniel Hackett

Familiarity is a big thing in NFL football, and for the New York Jets, entering a second offseason with Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett, things are moving along a little smoother than they did in year one, particularly with the offensive line.

Despite three new starters, Tyron Smith, John Simpson, and Morgan Moses to join center Joe Tipperman and Alijah Vera-Tucker, the offensive line has been in good form in preseason.

For Hackett, who is now seeing the fruits of his labor after being with the team for over a year, the offensive line is working well together at this stage of the offseason program.

"Anytime you're in a second year, everybody understands Coach Carter [offensive line coach], they understand me, they understand what we're looking for," Hackett said . "We can talk about the nuances, the details, and you see that in a lot of the game. And we've had some different people playing in different spots and we haven't skipped a beat."

So, with players now comfortable in Hackett's system, it is no wonder that big things are expected from the Jets in 2024.

Of course, just because players are in their second year with Hackett doesn't mean that success is a given, but in camp, things have been trending in the right direction.

With three new starting linemen, naturally, it will take time for those to gel with the others, and so far, it's been nothing but positive vibes coming from the building.

The Jets have a lot on the line in 2024, and everything starts and stops with Aaron Rodgers . For the four-time MVP winner to be able to put the team in a position to make the playoffs, he needs to remain upright, and his reinforced offensive line is now filled with veteran studs.

Hackett says the unit hasn't skipped a beat this preseason, but the proof will be in the pudding when the Jets face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
