AUG 14 EMBIID GETS SECOND MEDAL Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid just won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics as a part of Team USA, and he was honored by his home country of Cameroon.

Cameroonian president Paul Biya gave Embiid the Medal of Commander of the Order of Valor, which is awarded to people who make exceptional contributions in the fields of arts, science, agriculture, commerce, or industry.

The New York Knicks' rival had the choice to represent his home country in the Olympics, but he decided to play for Team USA. Regardless of whether or not he played for them in the Olympics, Cameroon is proud to have a player as successful as Embiid.

AUG 14 KNICKS SIGN TOPPIN Jacob Toppin was great this past season for the New York Knicks' G League team, and they decided that they wanted to lock him up this season.

The team announced today that they were signing Obi Toppin's younger brother to a two-way contract for the 2024-25 season. He averaged just under 20 points per game for the Westchester Knicks this past season.

Toppin is 6-8, weighs 200 pounds, and he could be a solid depth piece for a team that has been plagued by injuries the past several seasons.

AUG 13 'NO COMPARISON' If you ask someone who the greatest basketball player of all time, you are likely going to get one of two answers. But former New York Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury thinks the answer is clear as day.

"Jordan shouldn’t even be ranked. It should be Kobe, then LeBron and then you can pick guys after that," Marbury told Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson . "There’s just no comparison man. It’s not the same. It’s just different worlds. Different mentalities. I don’t know why Jordan’s name is mentioned in the same conversation sometimes."

The only evidence that Marbury provides for his claim is that Jordan's mentality is so much better than anyone else's, which could be a fair statement. No matter how you look at it, this is likely going to be a debate for the foreseeable future.

AUG 13 NBA CUP SCHEDULES REVEALED ESPN revealed the Emirates NBA Cup groups back in July, and now every team's schedules have been released.

For the New York Knicks, they will start out with the rival Philadelphia 76ers, then the Brooklyn Nets, then the Charlotte Hornets, and they will finish it with the Orlando Magic.

The Knicks made a number of moves this offseason in order to contend for a championship, but those moves will also help them try to win the NBA Cup in its second season.

AUG 13 BRUNSON GETS GIFT FROM MAN CITY A lot has happened for Jalen Brunson in the last month. He re-signed with the New York Knicks, he was named the 36th captain of the team, and now, he has gotten recognition from a very popular sports team in England.

Manchester City US of the Premier League posted on their social media today that they had gifted the star point guard a custom jersey, and they captioned the photo, "Mr. New York."

Manchester City is one of the best soccer teams in the world, so getting recognition from them is bound to get the Knicks more publicity and support across the pond, which is always a good thing.
