AUG 14 AIYUK TO LA? San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk has been the talk of the offseason, and there are some teams who could be in need of his services.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon , he lists seven teams who could try and trade for the 49ers wide out, and one of the team he mentions is the Los Angeles Chargers.

The two teams that it seems to be between are the Pittsburgh Steelers and staying with the 49ers, but that does not mean that other teams can't try. If the Chargers were to trade for Aiyuk, it could help them contend in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs.

AUG 14 CHARGERS TOP 3 IN AFC? The Kansas City Chiefs' rival Los Angeles Chargers have a new head coach, and Colin Cowherd thinks that Jim Harbaugh can lead the team to be one of the best in the AFC.

"I look at the Chargers and people kind of lament their wide receivers... San Francisco was Crabtree and a bunch of guys. Michigan just won with Roman Wilson - they didn't throw the ball. If you look at everywhere Harbaugh has been... His teams have always had one shortcoming: Not a great group of wide receivers," Cowherd said . "I don’t think it’s crazy to suggest the Chargers are gonna be a top-3 seed in the AFC."

Some are worried about the wide receiver corps of the Chargers, as Quentin Johnston is the team's best wide out, who did not have a great rookie year. With that being said Harbaugh wins everywhere he goes, and the Chargers could prove to be no different.

AUG 14 HARBAUGH NO LONGER TEAM CAPTAIN Michigan announced last week that former head coach Jim Harbaugh would serve as the honorary team captain for their 2024 season opener on Aug. 31 at home against Fresno State.

But per a report by The Athletic's Austin Meek , Harbaugh called to tell Michigan that he no longer would be able to fulfill this duty, as he did not want to be away from the Los Angeles Chargers.

He is looking to turn his team around and help them contend with the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. To do that, he is looking to spend every moment possible with his new team.

AUG 13 TAYLOR CARTED OFF The Chiefs' Wednesday camp workout has been marred by an injury to right tackle Jawaan Taylor that required him to leave via a medical cart.

Taylor was a full-time starter last year on the way to the team’s Super Bowl victory.

Lucas Niang is the replacement for Taylor right now as the Chiefs' No. 1 roster concern is keeping upright QB Patrick Mahomes.

    We will monitor.

AUG 13: HOLLYWOOD OUT 4-6 WEEKS - Kansas City Chiefs new acquisition Marquise Brown went down with a shoulder injury after his first catch against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the preseason, and now we have a timetable for his return.

The speedy receiver will miss 4-6 weeks with the separated shoulder injury he suffered. The team's first game is three weeks from Thursday.

With Brown sidelined for possibly a couple weeks into the regular season, the Chiefs will need rookie Xavier Worthy and others to step up and carry the load offensively.

AUG 11 'BROCK IS DIFFERENT' The Las Vegas Raiders selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he could be in great position to prove he was worth that high of a pick.

In an interview with ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that Bowers "can play all over the field." He may line up at tight end, but he can do whatever the team needs him to do.

If that is the case, then the Raiders could still use 2023 second-round pick Michael Mayer while Bowers is on the field, and that could bring a new dimension to the team's offense.

AUG 11 WIN During halftime of the Jacksonville Jaguars' eventual 26-13 win over the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs , team owner Shad Khan declared his ambition for upcoming season.

"It's time for us to win now, ..." Khan said during an interview with the broadcast team Saturday.

"Whatever we need to win, we have here," Khan continued. "We have a great head coach (Doug Pederson). We have a great quarterback (Trevor Lawrence). We have great talent all around and a great facility. All the ingredients that go in [to winning] are here. We have to demonstrate that by winning."

The Jaguars certainly signaled those intentions this offseason when they awarded quarterback Trevor Lawrence with a then-market-setting five-year, $275 million contract extension. But now the Jaguars have come out in no uncertain terms where their mindset is at.

Sure, the preseason win over the Chiefs isn't anything to write about regarding the season ahead. However, it could very well serve as an early preview of a potential playoff game.

AUG 6 CHARGERS PLAYOFF BOUND? The Los Angeles Chargers finished with a 5-12 record in 2023, and they hired Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach to try and fix that problem.

In a recent article by Will Brinson of CBS Sports , he lists some NFL teams who could make a jump into the postseason this year.

One of the teams he mentions is the Chargers, as he thinks Harbaugh is the missing piece they have been looking for.The Chargers' new head coach has a reputation for winning, as he is a 188-71-2 as a head coach.

That leadership combined with the talent the Chargers have could lead the team to contend with the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
