A Super Bowl may not see the light of day at a place like Buffalo, but the Bills are hoping to get another major event in a new building like Highmark Stadium.

As reported by the Buffalo News Thursday morning, the Bills plan to put in a bid to host either the 2028 or 2029 NFL Draft. Buffalo would host the event at the team's stadium, which is currently being built as of this moment.

The NFL has worked to give every fanbase a chance to host the draft in recent years. The Detroit Lions hosted the 2024 draft while the 2025 draft will be held in Green Bay. The 2026 draft is set for Pittsburgh.

2027 has not been announced by the league yet, so Buffalo appears patient enough to look for ways to add leverage in their bid for a draft weekend.

"We've seen the success and growth of the draft in other markets," Bills CEO Pete Guelli said to the Buffalo News . "[The NFL Draft] is the kind of [opportunity] we're going to pursue as an organization, and we think the city of Buffalo would be absolutely perfect for this type of event. Our plan would be to express interest, and it's competitive -- there are no guarantees it will work out, but we want to go down that road."

Detroit had more than 775,000 fans in three days for the 2024 draft. It's safe to assume Buffalo fans will be as crazy as ever for a chance there.
