Ninth-inning rally falls short as Wings drop opener to Buffalo, 8-7
A ninth-inning rally came up just short on Monday as the Rochester Red Wings dropped the opening game of their home-and-home series with the Buffalo Bisons, 8-7. Down 8-5 going into the ninth in Buffalo, the Wings loaded the bases without anyone out before Juan Yepez struck out. Trey Lipscomb then drew a walk to bring in Darren Baker from third to make it 8-6, and Riley Adams scored on a groundout by Jackson Cluff to cut the lead to one. Although Alex Call drew a walk to load the bases again, Stone Garret grounded into a forceout to end the game.

2024 Men's Soccer Schedule Released
AMHERST, N.Y. -- The Daemen University men's soccer team is set to play 15 matches during the upcoming 2024 season. The schedule features eight East Coast Conference (ECC) games and seven non-conference match ups. The schedule features teams from five NCAA Division II conferences. The Wildcats will host defending national champion Franklin Pierce University and also face Goldey-Beacom College and Saint Anselm College for the first time in program history.

Mount Mercy Academy recently held an Athletic Awards evening. Included in the evening was the recognition and honoring of all athletes. Athletic Director Natalie Menz and the coaches presented special awards to the Most Valuable Athletes, the athlete that the coach felt the team contributed the most to the team’s success; the Coach’s Award which is given to the athlete who exhibits the best effort, attitude, dedication and team spirit; and the Most Improved Athlete given to the girl whose skills progress the most throughout the course of the season.
