The Minnesota Timberwolves will open the new season on a road trip against a couple of Western Conference foes before making their 2024-25 Target Center debut against the Toronto Raptors.
The full 2024-25 schedule was released Thursday afternoon, with the Wolves opening their season on NBA Opening Night at the Lakers, as previously reported . After that, the team will head to Sacramento for a battle with the Kings on Oct. 24 before their home opener on Oct. 26.
After that, the Timberwolves will have a couple of rematches from last season’s playoffs, hosting the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 29 and the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 1. Minnesota won’t play at Dallas until Christmas Day — the Wolves’ third-ever Christmas Day game and first since 2017 — and won’t travel to Denver until March 12.
As expected, the Timberwolves will have way more nationally broadcast games in 2024-25, jumping from 10 last season (half on NBATV) to 25 in the upcoming campaign. That includes eight each on TNT and ESPN, seven on NBATV and two on ABC.
Not only will Minnesota’s opening night and Christmas Day games be nationally televised, but so will their first games against Dallas and Denver.
Other Timberwolves schedule highlights include:
Matchups against the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics on the road on Nov. 24 and at Target Center on Jan. 2.
Rematches against first-round playoff opponent Phoenix at Target Center on Nov. 17 and March 28 & at the Suns on Jan. 29 and March 2.
Back-to-back against former Timberwolves forward Kyle Anderson and Golden State on Dec. 6 and 8 on the road. He’ll return to Target Center with the Warriors on Dec. 21 and Jan. 15.
LeBron’s final game at Target Center? Barring a playoff matchup, the Lakers only play in Minnesota on Dec. 2.
MLK Day in Memphis — the 27th time the Wolves have played on the holiday but the first time it’s been at Memphis.
Ending at home — The Wolves finish the regular-season with two home games: vs. Brooklyn on April 11 and Utah on April 13.
Despite opening on the road, six of Minnesota’s first 10 games will be at Target Center.
The Timberwolves will play in 14 back-to-back matchups this season — four home-home, four home-away, three away-away and three away-home — one more than last year.
The Wolves will also play the same team in two straight games on four different occasions — Nov. 12-13 at Portland, Dec. 6 and 8 at Golden State, Feb. 23-24 against OKC, March 19 and 21 vs. New Orleans. Three of those will also end up being three matchups against the same team in four games, as the Wolves also play Portland on Nov. 8, Golden State on Dec. 21 and OKC on Feb. 13.
Single-game Wolves tickets are set to go on sale to the general public on Aug. 22 at noon. Fans can sign up for priority access a day earlier online .
