It has been around seven months since one of the most legendary coaches of all time announced his sudden retirement.

Former Alabama coach Nick Saban hosts an annual event in Tuscaloosa called “Nick’s Kids Giveaway Luncheon.” During the event on Wednesday, Saban had an opportunity to meet with the media and discuss some of the things he will be providing in his new role as an ESPN analyst.

“I’m still involved in football," Saban said . "Having the opportunity at ESPN whether it was doing the draft, doing SEC Network, doing GameDay coming up here next weekend really in Ireland, in Dublin for the Georgia Tech-Florida State game. It keeps me involved in football. I do a lot of speaking and hopefully, try to impact the game in a positive way based on the experience and the knowledge that we’ve accumulated through the years from great mentors. Maybe we can help college football continue to be all that it is and more.”

It will certainly be strange to see Saban on a desk panel rather than in his headset on the sidelines. However, the new era of Alabama football has begun, led by Kalen DeBoer.

Saban is set to join the first ‘College Gameday’ in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 24 as they set up the matchup for Florida State vs. Georgia Tech. Saban seems eager to get started in his new role, and all fans nationwide are eager to see how Saban will perform along with the rest of the legendary cast from ESPN.
