As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for their second preseason contest of the 2024 season, the starting defense is once again expected to see plenty of time Thursday night.

As the group continues to learn under the tutelage of Vic Fangio, the Eagles defense knows they need more from their class of Georgia Bulldogs more than anyone else.

Nakobe Dean, Kelee Ringo, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, and Nolan Smith as a collective were part of one of the most dominant defenses in college football history.

As a collective on the Eagles, though, each player has had their own specific struggles.

As the group prepares to take on the New England Patriots in their next preseason showdown, each of them will have to produce at a high level should they be part of a defense that is feared at all in the NFL this season.

In particular, the likes of Dean, Davis, and Smith will need to show more than what they put on tape in the first preseason contest against Baltimore last week. Davis was pushed around in the run game, Smith didn't generate much of a pass rush, and Dean is still second on the depth chart.

If the Eagles are going to be successful in 2024, their defense needs to be a reason why and the Bulldogs of the roster need to prove their worth.
