AUG 15 KD SPECIAL TEXAS HOMECOMING The NBA officially released its schedule for the 2024-25 season on Thursday, and the Dallas Mavericks ended up with 30 nationally televised games, including a star-studded showdown with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day in Big D.

Aside from the Mavs, though, one of the best schedule quirks involves the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs. The Suns are scheduled to take on the Spurs on the Texas Longhorns’ campus on Feb. 20, giving superstar Kevin Durant a unique homecoming opportunity.

Durant is a Longhorns basketball icon who spent one season in Austin before being drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Count us in for wanting to see the NBA coordinate more of these types of homecomings for players going forward.

In a bit of foreshadowing by the NBA schedule-makers, the Nuggets will host the Thunder on Oct. 24, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania . The Dallas Mavericks beat the Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals, and avoided the Nuggets, as the Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the reigning NBA champions.

TNT will broadcast the heavy-hitting representation of the Western Conference bout.

AUG 13 WHO IS THE MAN IN THE MIRROR? In an interview with Brandon Robinson of Scoopb.com, former Indiana Pacers forward described the similarities between Dallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson and NBA legend Reggie Miller. Miller is the fifth all-time in NBA three-point shots, with Thompson railing by 79 three-point conversions.

During the interview, Bender also discussed the contrasting play styles of Thompson and Miller. For instance, Bender claimed Miller moves more than Thompson. The former Golden State Warriors All-Star benefitted from Stephen Curry 's gravity, leading him not to move around the same as Miller.

Miller exerted an extreme amount of energy coming off a multitude of off-ball screens. Bender then stated Thompson reminded him more of Ray Allen, as they share a similar quick release.
