Ex-Steelers, Dolphins WR Becomes Free Agent After Injury At Bills Camp

The Buffalo Bills placed wide receiver Chase Claypool on the Injured Reserve earlier this week after he suffered a toe injury in late July, preventing him from taking the field in training camp.

On Friday, the team decided to part ways with the former Pittsburgh Steeler, who was expected to miss the entire season, per Alaina Getzenberg. The last few years have been a whirlwind for Claypool, who has now been a member of four different teams since coming into the league in 2020.

The Canadian signed with the Bills on a one-year deal following the NFL draft in April and could've definitely had a chance to carve out a role if it hadn't been for another injury. In 2023 alone, Claypool played for the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.

Since Claypool was on the IR, he didn't occupy a roster spot. The ex-Notre Dame star had just eight catches for 77 yards in '23. Buffalo just worked out Corey Davis, who may give them more depth at WR.
