Former Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball star and fan favorite Keisei Tominaga has been chosen to play on a select team for the NBA’s developmental league.

Thursday, the league announced that Tominaga, fresh off competing in the Paris Olympics for Japan, will play for the G League at the Fall Invitational and FIBA Intercontinental Cup tournaments next month.

The Fall Invitational features a pair of exhibition games between G League United — comprised of top prospects — and Serbian team Mega MIS. Those games, which will be played in Santa Cruz, Calif., are set for Sept. 4 and 6.

Then, Tominaga and G League United will play in the Intercontinental Cup, which features the top team from each continent and will be played in Singapore.

Those games are set for Sept. 12, 14 and 15.

Before graduating this past spring, Tominaga played three seasons for the Huskers, accumulating 1,074 points and 178 made threes, ranking seventh on NU’s career three-point list and 30th in career scoring. His senior season, he averaged 15.1 points per game and was named second-team All-Big Ten.

He also signed a contract with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers last month.
