The Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list with a right hip inflammation on Thursday, retroactive to Tuesday.

Buxton left Monday night's game against the Kansas City Royals and an MRI exam later came back clean on Tuesday, but he's reportedly still dealing with lingering pain.

The 30-year-old told reporters he's taking it "one day at a time" until it feels "good."

On the season, Buxton's played in 90 games — the fourth most he's ever played in his career — hitting .275/.334/.528 with an OPS of .862. He also has 16 homers and 49 RBI.

In other moves, the Twins recalled Edouard Julien from Triple-A St. Paul. He's played in 63 games with Minnesota this season after starting the year with the club. He's in Texas with the team as the Twins start a four-game series against the Rangers Thursday night.

Pitcher Louie Varland has been sent back to Triple-A St. Paul and reliever Ronny Henriquez has joined Julien and the Twins Thursday night.

Henriquez has only appeared in three games with Minnesota this season, but has sported a 3.44 ERA in 34 games for the Saints this year.
