Utah Named a Finalist For Four-Star QB Helaman Casuga

The Utes are wasting no time getting a head start on their recruiting class of 2026 as four-star in-state QB Helaman Casuga lists the program among his top 8 schools .

Casuga hails from Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, and currently ranks as the 4th best prospect in the state, the 13th-best QB in the nation, and the 181st overall prospect in the country.

The 6'0.5" 200-pound field general has received offers from Colorado State, Hawaii, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, UNLV, Utah Tech, and Washington State, but has narrowed down his list of potential future homes to Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Nebraska, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, and Washington.

When assessing Casuga's playstyle, 247Sports' Greg Biggins said:

"Super productive QB who has been putting up big numbers since his freshman season. Threw for 4,145 yards and 34 touchdowns as a sophomore while completing nearly 65% of his passes. Natural thrower, strong mechanically with a quick release. Can get the ball down the field on a rope and is very good at extending plays and making something happen when the pocket breaks down. Has excellent pocket mobility, can make defenders miss, and doesn’t panic when pressured. Keeps eyes down the field, can find secondary targets, and is accurate to all three levels of the field. At 6-0, 200 pounds, size may be a concern for some but Casuga throws it well enough and has the athleticism to compensate and will play at the high Power 4 level."

If the dynamic dual-threat QB decides to stay in the Beehive State and make Salt Lake City his new home, he would be the first prospect of the 2026 class for the Utes and would most likely be next in line behind center once Isaac Wilson hangs up his cleats.
