WATCH: Browns CB Emerson Locks Down Vikings' Jefferson to Make INT

The Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings completed their two-day joint practice sessions on Thursday. Both teams will now turn their attention to their Saturday preseason clash.

However, for some players, Thursday was the last time they'd face off against one another. As is usually the case in the preseason, not all starters play, and considering the recent injury suffered by Browns star cornerback Denzel Ward , Cleveland may not want to risk Martin Emerson Jr. and Greg Newsome II.

If that is the case, and both Emerson and Newsome watch from the sidelines Saturday, then the former can, at the very least, look back proudly on his practice Thursday. Going one-on-one with Viking star receiver Justin Jefferson is never easy, whether in practice or a game.

However, Emerson made it look rather easy when facing off with the Vikings' new $135 million man. In a video shared by the Browns to social media, Emerson boxed out Jefferson, who appeared to be running a corner route in the endzone, to make an impressive interception.

Wednesday and Thursday's practices were the first time Emerson and Jefferson faced off on an NFL field. And by the looks of it, the former third-round pick more than held his own against one of the NFL's best receivers.

Emerson, the 23-year-old Mississippi State product, is entering his third year in the league and coming off a breakout season. While playing in 16 games last season, Emerson totaled 59 tackles, one for a loss, four interceptions, and 14 passes defended, as he allowed just a 46.8 completion percentage when targeted.

With Ward and Emerson on the outside and Newsome on the inside functioning as the slot cornerback, the Browns have a potential three-headed monster that will look to help make life on opposing pass defenses difficult.
