After spending seven years suiting up for the Chicago Sky, Kahleah Copper is getting a warm welcome in first her return to the Windy City.

Copper played for the Sky from 2017 through 2023, earning three trips to the WNBA All-Star Game and taking home WNBA Finals MVP honors as she brought a title to Chicago in 2021. She was sent to the Phoenix Mercury in a February 2024 trade and has continued her strong play, averaging a career-best 23.2 points per game and earning another All-Star bid.

Copper made her return to Chicago on August 15 in the first game back from the break for the Paris Olympics, and the Sky sent her a strong message before the game. The team took to social media to give Copper a warm welcome.

"Welcome back, Kahleah Copper," the post read alongside an image of two hands forming a heart.

Copper told reporters on Thursday that she was excited to be back in Chicago, noting that she was able to arrive a few days early due to the long break.
