The Milwaukee Brewers are well on their way to a National League Central title, sitting nine games clear at the top of the division. However, they will need to embark on their playoff journey without veteran outfielder Christian Yelich.

The 32-year-old has been limited to just 73 games this season due to a back injury and last played on July 23rd. On Thursday, Yelich announced that he is set to undergo surgery on the issue, which is set to end his campaign. Truly a crushing blow for Milwaukee and Yelich because he was swinging it quite well, slashing .315 with 11 home runs.

    Here is Yelich's announcement :

“It just got to the point where it wasn’t getting better,” Yelich said. “I tried everything I could. I ran out of options and it came time to make a decision.”

Shortly after Yelich's video was posted on X, the Brewers released a statement of their own and said the former MVP would be 100% healthy for the 2025 season.

Milwaukee owns a 69-52 record and just split a four-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
