Four-Game Series With Celtics Headlines Knicks' Schedule

Every NBA team's regular season schedule released today, and the New York Knicks play the best team in the league from this past season four times.

The Knicks made a number of big moves this offseason, and they made them to contend with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference. They will get to match up with the reigning NBA Finals champions and prove that the moves they made will have an impact.

The Knicks' first game of the season will be on the road against the Celtics, as they get to test out their new-look lineup against the league's top dog immediately. This will be one of four matchups between the division rivals, as the two storied franchises will clash multiple times over the course of the season.

While the Knicks will face the Celtics in the very first game of the year, that is the only time in the first half of the season that the two teams will match up. Their next battle will not be until February, as their final three games against each other will be in the last few months of the season.

With how deep both of these teams are, this four-game regular season series could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals. That was almost the case this past season, but the Indiana Pacers were able to close out the Knicks in Game 7.

The Knicks will be looking to be in the conversation for best team in the East with the Celtics, and a good way to do that would be to assert themselves in the regular season series.
