Urban Meyer coached for the Bowling Green Falcons, Utah Utes, Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes. He won national titles with Florida in 2006 and 2008 and another with Ohio State in 2014.

Meyer appeared on a recent edition of " The Herd with Colin Cowherd " to talk about college football. He made quite an interesting claim to kick off his appearance.

Meyer started talking about how he played multiple teams from the Pac-12 in bowl games while at Ohio State. He faced the USC Trojans in the Cotton Bowl in 2017 and the Washington Huskies in the Rose Bowl the following year. He then said that the Pac-12 was the best college football conference last season.

"...My final season in 18, we played Washington in the Rose Bowl," Meyer said. "So, you got a really good feel. It's changed a bit. But the one thing I'll tell you about the Pac-12, and obviously it's disappeared, ironically, I think arguably the best, I think, was the best conference in college football last year."

Three Pac-12 teams finished with 10 wins or more last season. The conference's top three teams were Washington, the Oregon Ducks and Arizona Wildcats.

The Oregon State Beavers, USC, Utah and UCLA Bruins all finished with eight wins. The California Golden Bears, Stanford Cardinal, Washington State Cougars, Colorado Buffaloes and Arizona State Sun Devils finished under .500.

Last season, Washington became the second Pac-12 team to make it to the national championship game in playoff history. The Michigan Wolverines beat Washington to take home the title. A Pac-12 team has never won the playoff. Oregon faced Meyer and Ohio State in the national title game in 2014.

Oregon State and Washington State are the only remaining Pac-12 members. Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA are in the Big Ten. Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado moved to the Big 12. Cal and Stanford are now in the ACC.
