NFL Star Chris Jones' Massive $1.5 Million Offer To Free Woman From Prison

Professional athletes are fortunate. They make a lot more money than the average Joe and sometimes, they like to pay it forward. That's exactly what Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones is doing.

The veteran has offered to pay $1.5 million in stolen chicken wings after a woman named Vera Friddell stole 11,000 cases to feed her gambling addiction, per People.com. Friddell just pleaded guilty and is set to serve nine years in prison.

Per the report, Jones has to act on his words. Friddell's attorneys have only 30 days from August 9th to file a motion to overturn her guilty plea and make a restoration payment instead.

“The clock is ticking,” attorney Gregory LaPapa said. “And Chris Jones has to be there with a checkbook.”

The Chiefs offensive lineman just got paid in March, signing a record-breaking five-year, $158.8 million extension before free agency opened up. He's certainly got the money to blow to help the woman.
