Oklahoma Sooners in the NFL preseason recap

While some Sooners have still not played in the preseason, others have been making a big impression!

Rookies

Drake Stoops had three second half catches in helping the Rams knock off the Cowboys in the closing seconds.

On the Cowboys side, tackle Tyler Guyton was impressive with some huge pancake blocks freeing up plenty of space.

Walter Rouse, the Vikings’ rookie lineman also stood out.

Veterans

CeeDee Lamb is not currently playing and was removed from the active roster this week. He is caught up in contract drama. He even made a crack earlier this week after Jerry Jones said there was no urgency to sign Lamb. There are reports that the Cowboys have offered a contract extension paying up to $33 million per year.

Baker Mayfield did not play in the first preseason game for Tampa Bay.

Cardinals’ coach Jonathan Gannon made the decision not to play Kyler Murray for any preseason games.

Marvin Mims Jr. had two receptions for 17 yards to help the Broncos beat the Colts 34-30.

Texans Joe Mixon did not play in Friday’s game against the Steelers.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown had an 11 yard catch but then suffered a shoulder injury and had to leave the game. Later it was revealed that Brown will miss 4-6 weeks with a Sternoclavicular injury.
