Angel Reese Getting Roasted After Making WNBA History In Sky-Mercury

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky welcomed the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA's return from its Olympic hiatus.

During the 85-65 loss, Reese's name was going viral for breaking a franchise record. She now has the most offensive rebounds in Chicago Sky history, passing Sylvia Fowles. Reese currently has 118 offensive rebounds and counting.

The rookie hauled in one of her offensive rebounds on a fastbreak in the third quarter after she grabbed a board off her own miss.

WNBA fans were roasting Reese since many were wondering why the WNBA posted the video of the rookie following up her own missed layup.

"We’re celebrating a missed layup? What are we doing here," said one fan.

"Another rebound off her own missed layup. shocked," said another fan.

"4/14 not exactly doing it all," explained another fan.

Angel Reese finished the game with 11 points and 15 rebounds, shooting 28.6% from the field.

Heading into the matchup, Reese was the only rookie averaging a double-double, posting 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.

Despite her elite resume, it seems WNBA fans believe Reese's skill set on the glass is overrated. She's been one of the best rebounders in the league, but fans believe the main reason for her success is benefiting from her own missed shot attempts.

"What good is a double-double when your team loses by 20?" said one fan.

"118 offensive rebounds…110 from her own missed layups," commented another fan.
